Families and history buffs alike will enjoy this imaginative recreation of the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion, in which Newmarket played a vital role. Military re-enactors and historical interpreters will take over the Sharon Temple Museum as it transforms into a 19th century encampment where visitors can talk with historians and experience hands-on history.
At 11 am, see the new recruits gathered at the front of the Temple for the opening ceremonies. By 12:30, they will be ready to muster and start to learn drill. Finally, at 2 pm a skirmish will break out….stand back and watch as the Rebels and the Crown soldiers face off against each other.
