Children have an opportunity to see what it was like to be a soldier during the 19th century through a combination of hands on and instructional learning. Participants will be taught the basics of 19th century military foot drill and the manual of arms. They will learn to stand at attention, to left face and right face, to shoulder arms, order arms and present arms. They will be taught how to march and to even master the challenging wheel manoeuvre. These new skills will be presented to family and friends at the end of the week.
