The Sharon Temperance Hall was built in 1853 and has always been an important community space. Starting the year it was built, a lease was signed with the Sharon Temperance Society to hold meetings, social events, and concerts. It became known as the Sharon Municipal Hall at the turn of the 20th century, and eventually became the home of the East Gwillimbury Civic Centre until the current one was built in the 1990s. The hall is a great venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, bridal showers and corporate events. The hall accommodates up to 95 people and comes equipped with 10 – 60 inch round tables, 4 rectangular buffet tables and 95 padded chairs. In addition, the Hall has a full kitchen including 2 stoves, large refrigerator and is handicapped accessible.
